The City of San Diego Proclamation — Talmadge
Day
On July 19, 2003 The Office of The Mayor, City of San Diego, issued
the following ‘TALMADGE DAY’ Proclamation which reads,

WHEREAS, Talmadge is a well-organized
and historic neighborhood comprised of residents who are
dedicated to the improvement of their surrounding community;
and
WHEREAS, since
its dedication in January 1926, Talmadge has remained committed
to enhancing the distinctive individuality of its homes
and to continue beautifying the neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, the
restoration of the ‘iron’ gates of Talmadge
is a testament to the neighborhood's tireless efforts to
preserve its unique history; and

WHEREAS, on July
19, 2003, the neighborhood of Talmadeg will celebrate its fifth
annual Talmadge Neighborhood Party where residents can enjoy the
day with old friends and potentially meeting new ones;
NOW, THEREFORE, I DICK MURPHY, THE
Thirty-third Major of the City of San Diego, do hereby proclaim
July 19, 2003, to be “TALMADGE DAY” in
appreciation and recognition of its contributions to helping make
San Diego a city worthy of our affection.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I HAVE HEREUNTO SET MY HAND, THIS DAY, AND
HAVE CAUSED THE SEAL TO BE AFFIXED HERETO:
